Drive a diesel train with expert group tuition
What is involved in this pampering day?
The Ecclesbourne Valley is situated in Derbyshire's Gentle Valley, stretching from the northern outskirts of Derby to the delightful town of Wirksworth, gateway to the Peak District. Upon arrival at the station you will be tutored by an experienced driver and shown how to operate the diesel train. After a break for lunch you and the other participants will each take to the controls to drive the train along the beautiful countryside route. Don't get too caught up with admiring the rolling hills and varied wildlife!
Whats on the agenda?
Upon arrival at the station you will be given a group safety briefing with an experienced train driver, the driver will then give a lesson. After your lesson you may enjoy lunch in the buffet car with the rest of the group. After lunch you will take it in turns to take to the controls and drive the train along a section of the line. After your drive you will be shown how to do the final checks and put the train away for the night.
Additional Information
Please note: due to extremely high demand, this experience now runs on selected weekdays only. Your voucher is valid for 10 months for one person. Participants must be over 18 years of age and must be reasonably fit and in good health. Stout footwear is recommended. Participants may not consume any alcohol on the day of the experience. This experience will take place in groups of a maximum of 4 participants. All dates are subject to availability.
